The last set of layouts from the desk top calendars.

I punched these apples from an old punch that I got on clearance years ago. A little piece of red ribbon across the corner adds that final touch.
My little "Hannah Montana" star. My 5 year old wanted to be Hannah Montanah for Halloween, and why not? That long blond hair is Danika's very own hair. A friend of mine found this outfit at Marshalls for 3.00!

I used water color crayons of the pumpkins to try and give them depth. I have never really used them so I still need practice.

This simple fall layout was done with leaves from "Autumn Fest" from the Fall and Winter Collection.

The Merry and Bright set from the Holiday Mini last year was one of my favorite. The Wild Wassabi green and Purely Pomegrannate made a festive combination.

This is one of my favorite layouts! It was totally scrap lifted! I like the flowers layered on the scallop punch. The flower was stamped and then punched out using the 5 petal flower punch. You can use the flower from the set Priceless or Ginormous Flowers you can do this with designer paper or even plain colored card stock.

These little bugs are from the Bugs and Kisses set. The twill ribbon was the perfect rustic element to go with the bugs. I stamped a little ant across the tape to add some fun and contrast to the bottom of the layout.
Don't you love this picture. My girls are 9 years apart but my oldest is so good with my youngest. This layout was inspired by all the lady bugs made from pick a Petal. I saw a similar layout and decided it was perfect. I changed the colors around to go with the scheme I wanted.
I saw a similar border to this one using a wheel, i didn't have the wheel so I improvised with the star and swirl from the Merry and Bright set from the holiday mini catalog.
I saw snail circles like this on a card off of Splitcoast Stampers. I thought it was so cute and wanted to use it somewhere in these calendars.

Here is another set of the calendar layouts. I think these calendars make the perfect gift!

Happy New Year!

This past summer my sister got married. Besides her professional pictures she had over 500 candids! It seemed like everyone friends and family involved in the wedding had a digital camera on them and used them!! My other sister being the "organized one" had her laptop with her she gathered everyones cameras and down loaded the pics onto her computer and then burned them to a disk for the bride. Because our family is very spread out Washington, Michigan, South Dakota, Montana, and Iowa My sister the bride uploaded the pictures on X-drive. She was able to email everyone the links at once and we could then down load all the pictures in full resolution.

When the holidays came around I started on Christmas gifts. My parents and my husbands mother have come to expect calendars of my kids. My parents each have their own office so I make a desk top calendar for each of them, and a 12 x 12 for their house. My mother in law in retired but likes both. As I was going through all my picture files I found myself being drawn to the candid pictures from the wedding. Tons of pictures of us sisters and our brother. The nephew and neices hanging out. Pictures of the kids with Grandpa and Grandma. I decided I wanted to make use of more of the pics so I decided to make a desktop calendar for my youngest sister of all the nephews and nieces, and a desktop for my sister in law of her four kids.

Over the next couple of weeks I am going to share the layouts of the various calendars.

The first set is the desktop calendars for my parents and mother in law. Some of these are cased, some are inspired and some are my own design.

This little layout was inspired by a layout using different snowflake set. I dug out my "Snow flurries" set to make the side border. I added a little dimention by making just a few of the snowflakes pop up.

I loved the wide twill when I saw this on a different layout. They used a piece of hodge podge hardware which looked classy. I decided to use a piece of pink ribbon that matched the background paper.

The layout on this page is expanded from a card. I changed the color scheme to what I wanted.

Christmas Card

This is a Christmas Card that I received at a swap a couple of months ago. I love the Seasons of Joy Stamp Set. It looks great with classic Christmas colors or soft non traditional colors. The gold cord also from the Holiday Mini catalog is elastic which makes it easy to work with. This Wednesday I have the opportunty to help out at My friends church. This is one of three cards that we will be making with her group of girls.

If you want to order any of the mini catalog items they are available to the end of this month.

Today I want to share some pictures with you. In my last post I shared part of my wedding gift for my sister. Today I am going to showcase my other sister. I love both of sisters dearly and with one in South Dakota and one in Washington and myself in Michigan we don't see each other often.

Lisa is an amazing photographer. She has a keen eye and has a knack for catching unique objects and angles. Her wedding gift for our sister was a matted and framed photo of the Light House and Pierre at Grand Haven taken on an afternoon that us threes sisters were there together. And all of these were taken with a Fuji point and shoot camera.

This is the wedding gift picture.

This is a small town Iowa near where we grow up. I love the way the trees frame the field and the barn. You may have seen this barn! This is a dairy barn that was built by the show "Make a Wish" with Amy Grant. My dad and brother were contracted by the network to install all of the dairy equipment. They didn't do it in a day it actually took several weeks.
